Redefining pain Management

Medissage Outreach (Medissage) was established in 2019 to help people suffering from chronic pain redefine pain management.

.

The organization provides care to people suffering from chronic pain specifically Veterans, and communities with low social determinants of health (LSDoH) .

Medissage partners with various community-based organizations (CBO) to provide care.

MISSION: "Helping people suffering from chronic pain live happier and healthier lives by redefining pain management and advancing knowledge."

In our VISION of healthcare and community well-being, we advocate for the inclusion of medical massage as a standard pain management intervention

before the prescription of high doses of medication.

Medical massage supports mental, emotional, and physical well-being and complements conventional psychiatric treatments.

A respectful and collaborative approach to care can genuinely help patients.

We VALUE, and highly prioritize active community participation, aiming to equip communities with the necessary knowledge

and resources to achieve overall holistic well-being.

We believe that this approach will lead to the development of stronger communities, fostering and nurturing community leadership.

Additionally, we place great emphasis on promoting equality, celebrating diversity, and fostering an inclusive environment that embraces lived experiences.

We are committed to ensuring access for all individuals, irrespective of background or circumstances.

Jon Mandell,  Patient

After being in a back brace for 3 months, I found that my hip had compensated for the immobility of my back. It had
become as painful as my back. I attended six weeks of physical therapy with not much progress being made on my hip
pain.
I attended weekly treatments of medical massage with Arrika for about eight weeks.
She was very good about listening to my concerns regarding my pain and addressing them. She used different
techniques to stretch and release my hip joint. At physical therapy, they attempted to stretch and strengthen the area but
the hip still felt so tight and painful. Arrika was able, through her various techniques, to relax the area enough to then
effectively stretch it and reduce my pain.
Not sure what would’ve happened if I had not found Arrika when I did. I appreciate all the help that she gave me.
